Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a student to attend a WLI course?
No. WLI courses can be taken on an audit basis.

What are the diploma requirements?
Each diploma track requires a completion of 120 training units. For each diploma track, 60 TUs (of the 120) must be earned from WLI courses (as opposed to outside courses or reading) and 32 TUs (of the 120) must be taken in a live format (attending class, webcasting, or outside course/conference). For each diploma track, at least 24 TUs must be earned from Core WLI courses.

How do I earn training units?
There are a variety of ways to earn training units.  Students may attend class in a live format, view classes through web casting over the internet, or purchase courses on CD/DVD.  Students may also be awarded training units for doing additional course reading, attending non-WLI courses and conferences, missions trips, developing ministry training materials, writing Christian books, and on-going ministry projects.

Who determines what diploma track I am assigned?
The WLI Registrar will reivew educational, religious and ministry experience to determine students diploma track and level of advanced standing. Students are not required to pay tuition on training units awarded for advanced standing.  Advanced standing is only accessed one time when students apply for admission.

What are the homework requirements?
Students are required to write a 3-5 page typed self-evaluation paper discussing how they were changed or transformed by the teaching. This self-evaluation paper is due 90 days after the course.

Students may obtain additional training units for each course by reading 500 pages on books on the same topic as the course and filling out a reading report form. Select books from well-known authors.

Do you have a recommended reading list?
WLI does not maintain a recommended reading list for students. Select books from well-known authors. Any books purchased at the Arsenal Bookstore will be accepted. You can contact the Arsenal at www.arsenalbooks.com.

Do I have to attend courses at WLI to earn my diploma?
No, you can actually earn a WLI diploma without ever attending a course in Colorado Springs. To earn your diploma, 60 TUs must come from WLI courses. These courses can be taken at WLI Regional Centers across the U.S., from CD/DVD WLI courses, or by web casting courses on the internet. The remaining training units can come from outside (non-WLI) courses and conferences. Outside courses and conferences must be pre-approved with the WLI Administrator.

How do I get credit for courses taken at WLI Regional Centers?
WLI Central students can take courses at any of our Regional Centers for WLI credit. WLI Central students should register for Regional Center courses at the Regional Centers and pay the audit price, Write and submit your self-evaluation paper to WLI Central. You will be able to deduct a portion of your course registration (paid to the WLI Regional Center) from your WLI Central tuition.

Will WLI help international students obtain a VISA when coming to study at WLI?
No. Students must make other arrangements to obtain a VISA.

Does WLI provide housing for students?
